  2. WHO CAN TAKE THE EXAM:
    1. Any Registered IAC Member with a unique ID number can write Part One of the exam.
    2. Allow 2-4 days after you register your membership while we configure the systems for your test. Notify membership@certifiedcoach.org  if your test is not active after 5 days.
    3. If your score is below 70% in your first attempt, you may retake the exam after 30 days.
  3. DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:  We believe this certification exam to be the most rigorous in our industry.
  4. TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE EXAM: While there is no time limit and the time it takes each person to complete the exam will vary widely, we suggest you set aside 4-5 hours where you can focus without interruption. You may want to do this in two sittings.
  5. CONTENT- PART ONE, IAC CERTIFICATION: The exam is based on knowledge and demonstration of the nine IAC Coaching Masteries™ only.
    1. 100 questions in total
    2. Between 6 and 12 questions on each Mastery

    5. Each exam is drawn from a pool of questions and so item totals will change slightly from person to person
  6. HOW THE ONLINE EXAM WORKS:
    1. This is an ONLINE exam.
    2. We encourage you to orient yourself to the exam style and content by trying the sample exam first (free).
    3. You are welcome to use any notes or written references to help you complete the exam.
    4. When you take the IAC Certification Exam - Part One, you can pause midway through the exam, and resume at a later time. Your answers will be recorded as you proceed and the system will recall your answers if you log in at a later date to complete it. (See panel, top right)
    5. There is no time limit and the system does not track your time.
    6. If you do not pass, you will receive feedback indicating which Coaching Masteries require a stronger understanding. We also provide 5 options to help you learn the Masteries.
